Simple, but true. Broadcasters are the gatekeepers to the living room. Their entire business model depends on no one else having access on a large scale. Of course they’re going to fight this. First the hardware, then the software, then they’ll publicly deride and denigrate the programming. Lastly, they’ll concede and call their moves “innovative.” It’s the process.
