I know 8 hours on the Internet guarantees a backlash but —

Yes, we need bigger solutions. Yes, I poked at the bra color / where you put your purse memes as being ineffectual. Yes, we need bigger ideas and societal change and whether or not you wear purple today matters less than whether or not you’re committed to tolerance and love and respect on an everyday basis.

But I don’t think this many people would have been talking about LGBTQA issues today without the purple, and especially not the purple Tumblr background (our community supporting its own). So unless you have that bigger societal solution figured out (even just the first action steps!)? Just wear purple and talk to someone you normally wouldn’t about sex or gender issues.
