We honored singer/songwriter Loretta Lynn with the President’s Merit Award on Tuesday at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Loretta’s date for the evening was Garth Brooks but Jack White stayed on her other arm the entire evening. Reba McEntire hosted and performed, Kid Rock and Gretchen Wilson rocked “You’re The Reason Our Kids Are Ugly” as a duet, and Martina McBride covered “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man),” which you can hear in the video. We’ll have more performances up soon.

Huge thanks to all the fans who joined us for this special tribute event.

Being part this event was an honor. Loretta Lynn is undeniably amazing.

I mean, look, my heart actually MELTED when Garth and Jack held Loretta’s skirts up off the puddles!

Also, I took a picture of Jack White’s (incredibly distinctive) shadow and no one has commented on that yet. SAD.
