“I went to China and convinced some factories that make millions and millions of plastic toys—that mass-produce plastic toys for Toys R Us and places like that—to use the same machinery to make art work. So in a lot of ways, the toy is the canvas—the toy-form, the form of the toy is the canvas, but what’s being created is artwork. And that doesn’t mean that kids can’t play with it. I mean, it’s really like pop art. And it’s pop art and it’s folk art, it’s all those things, you know. And we purposely keep this whole thing pretty affordable so that it’s possible for a lot of people to get into it.” - Paul Budnitz
